For example, some companies may choose to offer a <a href=\"https:\/\/mo.work\/blog\/what-is-a-9-day-fortnight\/\">9-day fortnight<\/a> to their employees.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Embracing a 4-day week<\/strong>: Some companies are embracing enhanced flexibility with a four-day work week without the pressure to complete 40 hours of work within four days. This can give you a real competitive advantage as it\u2019s an incredibly compelling employee benefit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"3\">How the pandemic impacted flexible working habits<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While the concept of flexible working has been around for a long time, the pandemic brought many aspects into sharp focus. The need to embrace remote working where possible showed many employees a different option for their day-to-day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ons.gov.uk\/employmentandlabourmarket\/peopleinwork\/employmentandemployeetypes\/articles\/ishybridworkingheretostay\/2022-05-23?isid=enterprisehub_uk&amp;ikw=enterprisehub_uk_lead%2Fwhat-is-work-flexibility-really_textlink_https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ons.gov.uk%2Femploymentandlabourmarket%2Fpeopleinwork%2Femploymentandemployeetypes%2Farticles%2Fishybridworkingheretostay%2F2022-05-23\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Opinions and Lifestyle Survey<\/a> (OPN) found that 8 in 10 workers who worked from home during the coronavirus pandemic said they planned to work hybrid in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another driver of change was that many people also had to navigate increased caring duties during the pandemic due to school closures to illness.
